The Heart of BoyTalk
BoyTalk runs peer-led men's mental health support groups that are free to attend and open to all men. We provide a warm, safe, down-to-earth space to talk openly about the trials and tribulations so many cope with in silence, helping to tackle the stigma that still surrounds men's mental health.
BoyTalk is men helping men, strengthening our mental resilience and working together to bring down male suicide rates.
BoyTalk was born from a simple, personal truth: men shouldn't have to navigate their silence alone. We saw the void where support should be and realized that for too long, men have been taught to 'man-up' and bury the 'tears, tantrums, and testosterone' that make us human.
BoyTalk was founded to build the community so many men need.
The stigma isn't just about 'not talking'; it's about the lack of honesty. We challenge the pressure on men to always be okay. Our groups are real, unfiltered safe spaces where vulnerability is the foundation of our collective strength. Peer support, community, no judgement.
Breaking the Silence
The Three Pillars:
At every BoyTalk group, we're guided by three simple but powerful pillars:
1. Confidentiality – what’s said in the room stays in the room, so people feel safe opening up.
2. No Judgement – everyone’s experience is valid, and you’re accepted exactly as you are.
3. No Advice-Giving – we don’t jump in with fixes unless someone clearly asks for advice; we focus on listening and understanding.
Where We are Headed
Our start in Gloucester and Cheltenham is just the beginning. Our mission is to go nationwide and become a registered charity, seeking leaders to establish safe hubs across the country and get the national recognition and support men's mental health deserves. We want to ensure that no man, no matter where he is, feels his only option is to struggle in silence.

Beyond BoyTalking
We are building more than just meetings; we are building a movement. Alongside our core support groups, we are growing a wider community through socials, sports, and walks. These initiatives are part of our sustainable plan to become a registered charity, ensuring that every man has a place to turn, no matter his journey.
"Let’s be honest: depression is sh*t. There’s no poetic way to put it. It’s a miserable, soul-sucking experience that has claimed several of my friends' lives and has come dangerously close to taking more.
I’ve been lucky, throughout my own journey, I had incredible friends and family who stepped up to catch me. But I know for a fact that some men don't have that safety net. They are navigating the darkness entirely alone, and that is where the danger lies.
Growing up, I was always considered soft because I never hid my feelings; I was always happy to talk, and I was never afraid to cry. But I realize that for many men, that feels impossible. They’ve been taught to perform strength until they break. I’m building BoyTalk to provide all men with a safe, free and accesible space where they can finally be as comfortable with their feelings as I am with mine.
I help myself along the way by using therapy, I take the meds, and I meditate, not because I’m broken, but because I want to stay in the game. We’re building the brotherhood I wish every man had; a place where we stop performing, take off the mask and just breathe.
In all my endeavours, this is the one I am most passionate about and from the bottom of my heart, I want to change, improve and save as many men’s lives as possible."
A message from Nick
MEET NICK
The Face Behind BoyTalk
Nick Martindale is the founder of BoyTalk. His commitment to men’s mental health is born from a reality he has faced too many times. Over the years, Nick has navigated the trauma of several encounters with suicide, facing both the devastating loss and the near-loss of close male friends and family members.
Nick is transparent about his personal experiences with depression and openly shares how he utilizes therapy, medication and meditation to manage his mental health. He aims to dismantle the stigma surrounding these supports and prove that seeking help is a strategic move for any man's well-being.
As an entrepreneur, entertainer and public speaker, Nick is familiar with the pressure to "be on form" for others while struggling internally and although he is candid about his struggles, he realises some men aren't and that is where BoyTalk comes in.
In April 2026, BoyTalk launches at two locations in Nick's home county of Gloucestershire. Once established the ultimate goal is to scale BoyTalk into a nationally recognised charity with over 100 meeting locations helping thousands of men. Nick also plans to expand the offering and support to outside the safe circles and into walks, sports and socials. Nick wants to build BoyTalk into the community he once needed, a place where talking isn't just "encouraged," it's the standard.
